Fantastic Interview! I really enjoyed the answers to the question about “Starting Over… What would you do?” It makes me think that I still have a chance… if I put in the time. I like the “trading up” strategy that they mentioned. I appreciate you doing the interview and posting it! Cheers!

@max- “Jeff articulated the beachfront real estate analogy very well.”

That is true but I had higher expectations that in his position he would actually ” get it” not just in talk but also when it comes to business, and be able to see the forest through the trees.

The analogy is great. He can look back in time but can he look forward? It didn’t seem that way. It is even more disappointing b/c he is very intelligent, and comes across as a really nice & decent person.
Oh well..I tried.

Once again Simon, a very enjoyable interview. Michael and David alluded to the Madison Avenue advertising agencies and other large corporate entities still not yet fully grasping the significance of premium domain names. It’s quite obvious for example that something like PalmSprings.com is a powerful brand. Why have the larger media corps been so slow to rally around very high-quality domains … while spending exorbitant sums on more traditional ads? I don’t believe these supposedly polished larger firms have it figured out yet. Perhaps just slow to change.

Reminds me somewhat of the newspaper industry blindly stumbling forward on their past merits thinking the gravy train would never end for them. It seems inevitable that a sea change will come. However, not as quickly as some expected.

The most inspirational piece of David and Michael’s story was the determination to run with what they had, and not allow themselves to be limited by the backward thinking of the local newspaper and other old-style entrenched “experts”.

Richard: While we could have used domainerincome.com, we wanted to separate out the show. For us, this is really about educating and growing the marketplace. In terms of .tv, it was the most appropriate extension!

Max: Thanks for your comments on the video production. We put a lot of effort into it.

Brian: I wasn’t aware that Ron had mentioned it on DNJ. I’ll go and check it out.
